Welcome to my Teaching Portfolio! This is the home for all of my Writing reflections & learning outcomes as a Writing Mentor in Arizona State University’s Writers Studio.
The Journey
My journey up to this point has been a long and winding one, as a child I was endlessly lost in the sense of awe and wonder that could only be inspired through the stars and the many stories we tell about them. This was the beginning of my writing journey, but you may be wondering; what does any of this have to do with the writing center?
Teaching
The truth is, we won’t become a post scarcity, space faring civilization through pure vibes alone. The economic muscle required for this goal, require special abilities; the ability to teach.
This has been a major stumbling block for me in my career, and the fact of the matter is; Whether I serve as an Entrepreneur, as a Programmer, as a Business Consultant or even a manager at Starbucks; I need to teach people. The problem with that is, I don’t know that I know enough to do so. Perhaps if I had a body of work that I could use to prove to myself what I know, then perhaps persuading others to listen would come at a lesser cost to either party.
In other words, no matter what career I pursue, teaching is essential, and this portfolio is my way of demonstrating that I can.
